Overview #
Large Oil Rig is an offshore monument located in the ocean, accessible only by boat, submarine, or aircraft. The structure rises across multiple vertical levels, connected by stairs, ladders, catwalks, and platforms.
It is one of the largest and most loot-dense monuments in the game, featuring military and elite crate spawns, diesel fuel, a research bench, and both Blue and Red Card access areas.
Scientists patrol every level of the rig, including a Heavy Scientist event triggered by hacking the locked crate.
Layout #
Large Oil Rig is structured across multiple stacked levels, starting from the dock at sea level and rising to the helipad at the top.
Key areas include:
- Dock (L0): Boat landing area with initial crate spawn.
- Catwalk Ring (L1): Circular walkway level with stairs leading upward.
- Mid Levels (L2-L4): Contain crate spawns, Green Card access, and the Blue Card room.
- Blue Card Room: Located on one of the upper mid-levels and contains multiple military crates.
- Upper Access Levels (L5): Transition level providing access to cranes and alternate paths.
- Top Level (L6): Final platform containing the Red Card room, elite crates, diesel spawns, helipad, and research bench.
- Cranes: Large crane structures extending outward from upper levels.
- Exhaust Pipes and Flare Stack: Exterior traversal points.
- Helipad: Landing platform at the top of the rig.
Each level offers multiple sightlines and access routes, making vertical movement a defining feature of the monument.
Loot #
Large Oil Rig typically contains:
- Numerous military crates
- Elite crates on the top level
- Brown and component crates
- Diesel fuel spawns
- Green, Blue, and Red Card access points
- Research bench access
The Red Card room and locked crate on the top level provide some of the highest-tier loot available at sea monuments.
Blue and Red Card Access #
- Blue Card Room: Swipe a Blue Card to access several military crates.
- Red Card Room: Located on the top level and accessed with a Red Card.
- Locked Crate Event: Hacking the locked crate triggers the Heavy Scientist event.
The Heavy Scientist appears after the locked crate hack begins and drops high-value loot upon defeat.
