A large scrap-focused monument with crate loot, recycler access, and a functional crane and shredder system.
Overview #
Junkyard is a large scrapyard-style monument typically found in forest or plains biomes. It is easily recognized by its piles of crushed vehicles, rusted metal structures, and surrounding barbed wire fencing.
The monument is divided into two broad sections, with most loot and points of interest concentrated on one side. In addition to standard crate spawns, Junkyard includes a working magnetic crane and vehicle shredder, which allow vehicles to be processed into scrap.
Layout #
Junkyard is made up of scrap piles, small industrial buildings, and elevated mounds.
Key areas include:
- Excavator Room: Interior building section within the yard.
- Recycler Hill: Raised area containing a recycler.
- Shredder: Large crushing machine used to process vehicles.
- Magnetic Crane: Operable crane positioned above the shredder.
- Modular Car Lift: Located near the shredder area.
- Satellite Dish: Rusted dish structure within the yard.
- Broken Crane: Static scrap crane structure.
- Empty Hill: Raised dirt mound area.
- Car Stack Jump-Out: Escape route over stacked vehicles.
The monument is surrounded by fencing, with a few entry and exit points around the perimeter.
Loot #
Junkyard typically contains:
- Brown crates
- Component crates
- A green keycard spawn
- Barrels throughout the yard
- Recycler access
- Vehicle-related components
Most crate spawns are located on one side of the monument, primarily near the shredder and recycler areas.
Magnetic Crane and Shredder #
Junkyard features a functional crane and shredder system used to convert vehicles into scrap.
To operate:
- Enter the crane control cabin.
- Insert low grade fuel to power the crane.
- Use the magnetic arm to lift a vehicle.
- Drop the vehicle into the shredder.
The shredder processes the vehicle and produces scrap, along with occasional additional materials depending on vehicle type.
