What's Coming - April Wipe

Raven | 03 Apr 2026

A full preview of the April Rust wipe on State of Flux, including Facepunch's update additions and a major overhaul of the server menu, dashboard, and progression systems.

Friday is wipe day, and this one comes with more changes than usual. Facepunch is dropping the April update alongside it, and on our end the State of Flux menu is getting its biggest overhaul since the server launched. There is a lot to look forward to heading into the new wipe.

Here is what is coming.

April Map - SkyFall

SkyFall is this wipe’s featured map: a fallen city buried in sand, with a central island ringed by rail, strong road connections, and layered underground transport routes that make travel and base planning flexible all wipe long.

From Facepunch - The April Update

This April introduces a range of practical improvements aimed at enhancing everyday gameplay. Builders, farmers, and players working with electrical systems will all find meaningful additions that improve how the game feels to play.

Armored Ladder Hatches

This one has been on the community wishlist for a long time and it is finally arriving. Armored Ladder Hatches are coming in both square and triangle variants, giving builders a proper top-tier option for securing vertical access points in their bases. If you have put serious effort into base design on State of Flux this is going to be a satisfying addition to your building toolkit.

The Water Wheel

Hydropower is coming to Rust for the first time. The Water Wheel sits early in the Engineering Workbench tech tree and generates electricity from flowing rivers, passively, just by being placed in the water. For anyone who builds near a river, and on State of Flux quite a few of you do, this could become a go-to early power source right from the start of a wipe without needing to farm components for a generator first. It is the kind of addition that makes a base feel more alive.

Blueprints, all at once

You will be able to unlock an entire workbench tech tree in a single action next wipe, provided you have the scrap. If you have been playing long enough to know exactly what you want to learn, this is going to save a meaningful amount of time at the start of each wipe.

Coloured Buttons

Buttons are getting a colour selection wheel next wipe, letting you assign different colours to different switches around your base. For anyone running complex electrical systems it is a practical organisational tool as much as a cosmetic one.

Farming gets more forgiving

The ripe window for crops is being extended to a full 24 hours next wipe. If you have been logging in twice a day to catch your harvest in time, that pressure is about to ease off considerably. Tend your plants, go do something else, come back when it suits you.

Farming Update

Fishing gets more interesting

Fishing the same spot repeatedly will start to yield diminishing returns next wipe. It adds a gentle reason to explore the coastline rather than anchoring in one place for the whole session. Deep Sea fishing is being improved alongside this, making offshore runs more rewarding for anyone willing to make the trip.

Fishing Update

Easter

The egg hunt is returning with fully refreshed visuals, brighter, higher-definition eggs that are noticeably easier to spot during the day and at night. New bunny costumes are coming in three variants if you want to lean into the occasion.

From Us - The New State of Flux Menu

This is the part we have been working toward for a while. The new menu system goes live at Friday’s wipe, and it represents the biggest change to how State of Flux works since we launched. Here is what is changing.

A Dashboard that means something

The Dashboard has been rebuilt from the ground up. It now gives you a proper picture of your wipe at a glance, your rank and score, time played, RP balance, and the categories where you are performing best, all in one place. Your rank from the previous wipe carries over and is shown here too, so you can track how you are progressing across wipes rather than just within them.

We also added a Replacement Request system to the Dashboard. If you lose a kit item due to a bug or server issue you can now submit a request directly from the menu, write your reason, and track its status without needing to come to us on Discord. Approved requests can be claimed straight from the same screen.

Badges and Achievements - new this wipe

This is the headline addition and we think it changes the character of the server in a really positive way.

The new Badges and Achievements system gives you a whole additional layer of progression to work toward, visible from your Dashboard. Badges cover a wide range of activities, building, repairing, gathering, running raidable bases, completing events, helicopter kills, Deep Sea runs, and more. Each badge has tiers, so there is always a next level to aim for no matter where you are starting from. Locked badges show you exactly what you need to do to earn them.

The leaderboard is great for players who are chasing overall rank, but not everyone plays that way. The badge system is there to recognise the full breadth of what people do on State of Flux. Whether you are a dedicated builder, a farmer, an event runner, or just someone who wants to work through every unlock on the list, there is a path here for you.

Ranks - the full picture

The Ranks section has been expanded alongside the Dashboard. You can now see your score broken down by every individual category, making it easy to understand exactly where your overall rank is coming from. The new Compare tab lets you bring up any other player on the server and go through every stat side by side, useful if you are watching someone above you on the leaderboard and want to know where the gap actually is.

Commands - quick access

The rebuilt Commands page keeps actions easy to browse and run directly from one place.

Skins - faster and smarter

The Skins system has been overhauled with a clean split between your personal skin library and the server skin list. When you open the Skins page next wipe your own Steam-owned skins load first, so if you have a regular set of skins you use you will find them straight away without having to scroll through everything else. The full server library is still there and a single click away when you want it.

The split also means skins load noticeably faster than before, which makes the whole experience feel much more responsive.

We are keen to keep improving this. If there are skins you would love to see added to the server library, or ways you think the system could work better for you, come and tell us in Discord. We genuinely want to hear it.

We will see you on Friday. It is going to be a good wipe.
